Okaloosa County officials say dead bait fish have been washing up on some parts of Okaloosa Island and may be due to infestations of June Grass. Rich Huffnagle, the chief of Okaloosa County’s Beach Safety Division said with calm seas creating little wave action along the beach, the smaller fish can’t clear their gills. Huffnagle classified the fish kill as moderate, primarily cigar minnows and other smaller fish and that it is a fairly normal thing this time of year.
