Residents of the Wedgewood area may notice increased activity in the coming months as contractors work to shut down the Rolling Hills Debris Facility. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has selected Panhandle Grading & Paving to provide the construction services for final closure, which is to be completed within four months. The FDEP revoked the permit for the landfill in 2014. Residents may notice increased activity at the site, but contractors were instructed to make every effort to minimize any inconveniences or disruptions to the community.
