WEATHER UPDATE

The National Hurricane Center says there is now an 80% chance of a tropical depression forming in the northern Gulf of Mexico in the Big Bend area in next five days. The system could gain tropical storm strength as it moves west over the Gulf of Mexico toward Louisiana and Texas and will likely bring showers, winds and rip currents to the Pensacola Beach area through the weekend. That could mean trouble for the annual Blue Angels Air Show on Pensacola Beach. However, forecasters say it is too early to know exactly what the system will mean for Pensacola Beach.
