PANAMA CITY POLICE OFFICER INVESTIGATED

A Panama City police officer has been placed on administrative leave for hitting a man who was handcuffed. It happened July 4th on West 15th Street after Officer William Rhodes had arrested and handcuffed a man. Rhodes is accused of striking him in the face with his forearm. Police Chief Scott Ervin has opened an investigation into the incident and Rhodes has been placed on administrative leave while that investigation is being conducted.
