The search for a new First Judicial Circuit chief medical examiner to replace Dr. Andrea Minyard, continues. The Florida Medical Examiners Commission voted to remove her in January after Okaloosa County’s Department of Inspector General released an audit in July 2018 that said Minyard misused thousands of dollars of taxpayers’ funds. Minyard’s attorney filed a lawsuit against all four counties claiming they had no right to audit her office’s financial records. Minyard is currently serving as the interim chief while the search for her replacement is on-going.
