DOUBLE TRAFFIC FATALITY

The Florida Highway Patrol said two people were killed and two seriously injured in a single-vehicle weekend traffic crash in Cottage Hill. Troopers said 20-year-old Dalchunique Lavender, of Cantonment, was northbound on Highway 95A at Coweta Road, just south of McKenzie Road, when her vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole about 1:20 a.m. Two passengers – 15-year old Samara Cooks and 18-year old Deleigha Gibson – were pronounced dead at the scene. Lavender and 18-year-old Alexandria Banks, were critically injured and taken to Sacred Heart Hospital. The wreck was not alcohol related.
