The Florida Highway Patrol says two people were killed and three others hospitalized with serious injuries after a two-vehicle traffic crash on Pine Forest Road yesterday afternoon. Troopers say 51-year-old Wendell Jones was northbound on Pine Forest Road at a high rate of speed when he collided with a van driven by 81-year-old Mary Simmons of Cantonment that was turning onto Interstate 10. Jones and a passenger – 33-year-old Laura Fulgham – were killed. Simmons and two children – ages 4 and 8 – were seriously injured.
