The Chief Medical Examiner for the First Judicial Circuit has submitted her resignation. Dr. Andrea Minyard’s resignation is effective September 30th. After being criticized by auditors she was not reappointed by the Florida Board of Medical Examiners. Minyard said commissioners from Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton Counties should realize the office faces understaffing and an inadequate, overcrowded facility. Minyard has served as Chief Medical Examiner for the past 14 years.
