The Triple “A” Auto Club Group says Florida gas prices declined an average of six cents per gallon last week. Florida drivers are paying an average price of $2.52 per gallon for regular unleaded. The state average price per gallon is 24 cents less than this time last year. Triple “A” spokesman Mark Jenkins says continued weakness in the oil market has allowed for the cheapest summertime gas prices in two years. With the approach of the end of summer driving season and fewer families are taking extended roads trips, gasoline demand drops. However, if a hurricane appears in the Gulf it would have the potential to cause a gas price spike.
