The Florida Department of Transportation has not set a date when the new Pensacola Bay Bridge will open. They have twice announced dates to open the bridge, then postponed the move both times. Florida State Senator Doug Broxson told Channel 3 News the contractor ran into some unexpected delays and to his knowledge there are no structural problems. He also said all corrections have been made to the bridge that were revealed after inspections by the Department of Transportation.
