An inmate who escaped from the Escambia County jail early Saturday morning was recaptured Saturday afternoon when he was located by a Sheriff’s K-9 unit. Around 5am, 31-year-old Michael Perkins escaped while loading a food truck. He was being held on charges of burglary, larceny and dealing in stolen property and had been at the Jail since June 16th. Jail records indicate Perkins has prior arrests for theft, drug possession and probation violations.
