INTERSTATE 10 TRAFFIC FATALITY

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 72-year-old Freeport man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday night on Interstate 10 near the Santa Rosa-Okaloosa County line. Troopers said the driver – 75-year-old Genevieve Hamilton – was eastbound on I-10 near mile marker 42 around 10pm when she lost control of the vehicle while being passed by a semi-truck and struck a guard rail. Both she and her passenger, Carl Hmilton, were taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center where Carl Hamilton was pronounced dead.
