Structural engineers hired by the Okaloosa County School District are expected to give their approval for Choctawhatchee High School’s football team to play in 52-year-old Etheredge Stadium. In July the stadium was ruled unsafe and closed to the public after a mandatory state inspection when engineers warned that the concrete seating could collapse and chunks of concrete could fall to the ground. Only the top two rows of seating on the visitors’ side remain unrepaired and they are barricaded. The first home game is against Gulf Breeze on September 6th.
