ESCAMBIA COUNTY WOMAN DIES IN ALABAMA I-10 TRAFFIC CRASH

Alabama State Troopers said a 64-year-old Escambia County woman died Friday in a crash with a mail truck on the I-10 Bayway in Baldwin County. Troopers say Estrelita Naranja of Pensacola was eastbound when it broke down. She turned on the emergency flashers and got out the vehicle, which was then struck by a truck driven by 59-year old James Powell of Robertsdale, Alabama. Naranja went over the bridge retaining wall and into the Blakeley River. Her body was recovered by Alabama Marine Police. The truck caught fire and was destroyed and Powell was transported to an area hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
