TRAFFIC SHIFT ON NEW BAY BRIDGE

Plans are to shift eastbound traffic on the new Pensacola Bay Bridge tonight, and shift westbound – Gulf Breeze to Pensacola traffic – on Sunday, September 8th. 17th Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Gregory Street and the CSX Railroad overpass. Drivers will be detoured using Ninth Avenue and Cervantes Street. The new bridge will provide two lanes of east and two lanes of west, with a center-lane reserved for emergency vehicles. A multiuse path for pedestrians and bicyclists is expected to open near the end of 2019. All work is to be completed in mid-2021.
