Gas prices in Florida declined a few cents last week with drivers paying an average of $2.43 per gallon at the pump. Sunday’s state average is 5 cents less than a week ago. Mark Jenkins, spokesman, for Triple “A”, said prices often go down at the beginning of the fall driving season. With students back in school, families take fewer extended road trips and refineries will soon switch to winter gasoline, which is cheaper to produce than summer fuel.
