FORT WALTON BEACH FIRE FEE

Fort Walton Beach officials are discussing a proposed fire assessment fee to provide funding for fire suppression services. It would also allow the purchase of a new full fire engine and the hiring of six additional firefighters. The fee would also free up money from the general fund to allow the hiring of three police officers. City Manager Michael Beedie said the proposed assessment will generate up to 2.5 million dollars.
