The U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee has approved a bill that would give a 3.1% pay raise to military personnel, the largest pay raise for the military since 2010. The funding bill provides a total of 695 billion dollars for national defense, a 20 billion dollar increase over fiscal year 2019. The bill now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
