The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says a missing 3-year-old autistic boy with a congenital heart defect, was found several hours after he wandered off into a heavily wooded area in Pace over the weekend. He went missing from his grandmother’s house when he unlatched a deadbolt and walked into the woods. Deputy Robert Lenzo, along with Deputy Josh Chandler and a pair of K-9 bloodhounds – Copper and Zinc – were able to track Aedric Hughes through swampy terrain.  Except for some scratches and a few bug bites he was fine and was delivered safely back to his family.
