NEW CITY ADMINISTRATOR

When Pensacola City Administrator Chris Holley leaves his job at City Hall in December, Deputy City Administrator Keith Wilkins will take over the position. Holley, who has had a 40-year career in local Florida governments, agreed to come out of retirement to oversee daily operations of the city for the first year of Mayor Grover Robinson’s administration. Wilkins came to the city in 2015 after a long career with Escambia County. The city administrator position is mandated by the 2010 City Charter and gives the mayor the power to hire and fire the administrator. Wilkins held the job previously on an interim basis in the closing days of former Mayor Ashton Hayward’s administration.
