Police are continuing to investigate a serious two-vehicle traffic crash on the Pensacola Bay Bridge on Sunday. The Bridge was closed for more than two hours. Gulf Breeze Police Chief Rick Hawthorne said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, and charges are pending. Officers say 29-year-old Kristavia Johnson, of Pensacola, was northbound at a high rate of speed at about 3:30 p.m., when she struck an orange median cone, hit the outer retaining wall, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an S.U.V. driven by 46-year-old Miranda Casmiro of Pascagoula, Mississippi. People in both vehicles were injured, some seriously. The investigation is continuing.
