Fort Walton Beach Police say a 25-year-old Fort Walton Beach woman was charged with felony child neglect after her 2 and 4-year-old children were found wandering on Highway Avenue near Eglin Parkway. Investigating officers said Amanda Erickson was sleeping when the children went outside. The investigation revealed this was not an isolated incident. The children have been placed in the care of the Florida Department of Children and Families.
