A bill filed in the Florida Legislature would prohibit household pets from entering restaurants. While House Bill 243 wouldn’t pre-empt existing local ordinances or bar service animals from accompanying their owners inside, it would direct the state Department of Business and Professional Regulation to adopt rules and create a publicly accessible website for complaints. The 2020 legislative session begins January 14th.
