WEST PENSACOLA SEWAGE SPILL

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has issued a public notice of pollution after a broken main on North “W” Street near Bill Gregory Park caused a spill of nearly 15,000 gallons of sewage. An estimated 3,000 gallons reportedly went into Bayou Chico. The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority says the main was broken due to tree root damage.
