A surprise thunderstorm in Bratt in North Escambia County Friday evening brought high winds and lightning. Minor damage was reported,  with downed trees and power lines, which caused problems with homecoming festivities and the football game at Northview High School. The stadium was evacuated twice due to lightning and the outdoor homecoming court activities were moved into the school gym where power failures left people in the dark for about an hour. There was some minor damage to at least one home, but no injuries were reported.
