SANTA ROSA COUNTY WILDFIRE CONTAINED

After two days the Florida Forest Service’s Blackwater Forestry Center says a wildfire in Midway in Santa Rosa County that scorched about three acres is 100% contained. The Forest Service says it appears the fire was caused by human activity. Firefighters from the Forest Service and local fire departments responded to the fire early Sunday morning in the 6500 block of East Bay Boulevard. One structure was threatened but crews were able to protect the home. The Forest Service says about 15% of the fires in Florida this year have been deliberately set.
