The Florida Forest Service says Walton County has issued a burn ban. Bay, Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties are considering that option as conditions become more dry. Joe Zwierzchowski (“Zweer-Chow-Ski) with the Forest Service says it’s up to county commissioners to vote a burn ban into effect. However, the Forest Service has restricted prescribed burns and permits for fires bigger than eight feet in diameter in all four counties, and residents can be ticketed for violations.
