The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says a Jay man has been arrested for temporarily blinding a Sheriff’s deputy by shining a green laser into his eyes. The deputy reported he was driving through Jay at night when he saw a green beam coming through the back window of his patrol vehicle. He turned around approached the intersection of Commerce Street and Highway 4, and the green beam, which was now pointed at him, caused him to be unable to see the roadway. 43-year-old Glenn Bingham was found hiding underneath a Ford pickup truck and had a green laser pointer in his pocket. Bingham was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail with a $5,500 bond.
