Santa Rosa County Commissioners have voted to remove the entire zoning board following that board’s vote on rezoning that could have put Woodbine Road over its recommended traffic capacity. Some residents think the rezoning vote was a response to Santa Rosa County voters overwhelmingly rejecting a penny sales tax earlier this month. The sales tax increase was intended to widen the road and keep up with other infrastructure needs. Board Commission Chairman Sam Parker said he recommended removing the remaining eight zoning board members to rebuild trust between county government and citizens.
