Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission have announced that two more days will be added to the recreational red snapper fishing season in the Gulf. The Governor said the decision was made because of Tropical Storm Nestor’s impact on the state. That means the season will be extended to include November 2nd and 3rd. Recreational anglers may harvest red snapper in Gulf state and federal waters. However, state for-hire operations are limited to fishing for red snapper in state waters only.
