The Okaloosa County School Board wants a suit brought against them by former School Superintendent Mary Beth Jackson to be dismissed. Jackson’s lawsuit says that since she was reinstated by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and allowed to resign, the School Board is obligated to reimburse her for $282,000 in attorney’s fees and costs. Board attorneys filed a motion on October 7th asking Circuit Court Judge William Stone to dismiss the civil action, arguing the governor’s reinstatement action does not entitle Jackson to an award of attorney’ fees.
