VAPING LAWSUIT FILED

A local law firm is suing the vaping company, Juul, saying their client – 25-year-old Rayn Nigro – developed lung scarring and a severe nicotine addiction. Attorneys from Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz law firm say Nigro began vaping in 2016. She enjoyed the flavor and did not know the product contained nicotine because at that time there was no warning about nicotine on the packaging. The lawsuit targets Juul’s marketing strategies, including the product’s design, ads and what they call kid-friendly flavors. Facing mounting criticism, Juul announced the suspension of selling flavors, like mango and cucumber, online. The case has been filed in New York’s federal court.
