Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson says three to five armed robbers have been stealing firearms from vehicles. In one case a robber was going through a truck off Woodbine Road when the owner ran outside, scaring him away. The owner chased the robber who sped away and fired a bullet at the resident. Sheriff Johnson said the group has broken into 10 unlocked vehicles in Santa Rosa County and escaped with one handgun. He said the suspects are black males and range in age from 16 to 25, and are from Escambia County.
