A bill to ban public smoking on public beaches and parks – including vaping devices – has been filed again in the Florida Senate. Republican State Senator Joe Gruters of Sarasota has reintroduced legislation that would make it illegal to smoke in public spaces, including beaches and parks and would include a mandatory statewide tobacco education and prevention program. If it passes, the law will go into effect in July 2020.
