An Okaloosa County apartment complex was destroyed by fire early yesterday morning. Firefighters from the Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District and the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department arrived at 940 Ashley Lane at 3:30am to find the entire complex ablaze. Several people were trapped by the fire and had to jump to safety and one person was injured. The building had12 apartments and was a total loss with damages exceeding one million dollars. The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
