CENTURY TOWN MANAGER

The town of Century’s Interim Town Manager Buz Eddy, wants to discard the applications received for a permanent town manager and hire his former coworker on a longer-term interim basis. Vernon Prather has been began working on a consulting basis when Eddy was hired in July after retiring as the City of Gulf Breeze. Prather worked for Gulf Breeze from 2006 to 2017. Eddy did not apply for the position, but told the town council he would stay until a replacement could be hired. He is recommending Prather be moved from interim gas superintendent to interim town manager and that an employment contract be drafted for council approval.
