PROPOSED FLORIDA BUDGET

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has proposed a 91.4 billion-dollar budget for the coming fiscal year. The budget recommends 480 million dollars in savings through administrative efficiencies and elimination of earmarks and places 5.6 billion dollars in total reserves. The budget also includes more than 300 million dollars in tax relief, including eight Back to School Sales Tax Holidays at a cost of 57 million dollars. Over 600 million dollars is also included to raise the minimum salary for full-time classroom teachers to $47,500. And 6.6 million dollars t local Supervisors of Elections combat cyber threats.
