THEFT RING ARRESTS

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says 3 suspects have been arrested in Orlando – charged with being part of an organized retail theft ring – and two other suspects are being sought. The FDLE says the theft ring is responsible for more than 100 thefts in 23 Florida counties including Escambia, Santa Rosa Okaloosa and Bay. The suspects printed fraudulent UPC barcodes on adhesive stickers and then placed the fake labels on more expensive products at The Home Depot and Target stores. The items were then mailed to another suspect who sold them online for large profits. Agents said the thefts cost retailers more than $150,000 in Florida alone. 62-year-old Harold Wilson, and 56-year-old Keith Conyers, are still being sought.
