FLEEING DRIVER ARRESTED

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says a man was arrested yesterday after a high-speed chase that ended near Jackson Street and New Warrington Road. Deputies had made a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle and got into an altercation with the deputy, got back into his vehicle, and drove off. At least one tire of the suspect’s vehicle blew out, allowing for deputies to surround him and make an arrest. His name has not yet been released, but there were no reports of any injuries.
