There are many bowls in December and January, but the State of Florida has one of the more unusual ones. Governor Ron DeSantis participated in the launch of the 2020 Florida Python Bowl Challenge. The 10-day Python Bowl starts on January 10th, 2020, and is aimed at protecting the Everglades from invasive snakes, especially Burmese pythons that have decimated local wildlife. Bass Pro Shops will provide cash prizes for python hunters who capture the heaviest, the longest, and the most pythons. DeSantis said participants will be able to access over 150 miles of secondary trails in Big Cypress National Park.
