The Fort Walton Beach Police Department and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office are investigating two shootings that left two people dead yesterday. The first happened around 1 p.m. on Walter Martin Road, in a building housing a law firm and an insurance office, and took the life of an unidentified woman. A short time later the suspect in that shooting – identified as 27-year-old Clyde Sullivan of Fort Walton Beach – was shot and killed by Okaloosa County sheriff’s deputies after a confrontation inside the entrance to Eglin Air Force Base’s Timberlake Pond Recreation Area off Lewis Turner Boulevard. The Police Department is handling the investigation of the first shooting.
