A bill titled the ‘Foreign National Firearms Background Check Enhancement Act’ has been introduced in the Florida House. It is intended to close the loophole that allowed a Saudi Arabian flight student at the Pensacola Naval Air Station to buy a gun used in the shooting on December 6th. That student was able to legally buy the handgun because he had a valid state hunting license. A companion bill needs to be filed in the Florida Senate and passed by both houses before it can be signed into law by the Governor.
