Changes to the city of Pensacola’s garbage, yard waste and recycling pickup days and services begin today. Garbage will be picked up on current garbage pickup days, with the exception of customers who receive service on Fridays. They will now receive all services on Wednesdays. John Pittman, director of sanitation services and fleet management, said the changes will streamline waste collection and increase efficiency since everything will go on the curb at the same time on the same day. Customers will receive postcards in the mail with their pickup day.
