Some excitement on Navarre Beach when what was thought to be a human hand washed up on the beach. Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said deputies responded to what was believed to be a severed human hand. However, the Medical Examiner’s Office said the object was not a human body part and is believed to be some type of sea life. Jeff Martin, director of the District 1 Medical Examiner’s Office, said cases of mistaken identity involving sea debris are not uncommon.
