The “Offer Your Shell for Restoration” program – abbreviated “OYSTER”, is now up and running in Santa Rosa County. The program collects old oyster shells from restaurants for recycling. The shells are “cured” by leaving them exposed to the elements and once clean, will be used to restore oyster reefs. Participating restaurants include Shrimp Basket locations in Milton and Navarre, and the Cutting Board in Milton. RESTORE Act funds helped pay for the program.
