FATAL SHOOTING FOLLOW-UP

The Panama City Police Department says it was an argument led to the Wednesday shooting death of a 45-year-old Gulf County woman at a trailer at a FEMA Group Site in Millville. Investigators believe the two had been involved in an on-and-off relationship for the past 15 years, William Briggs, from Gulf County, was arrested and charged with the murder of Tammie Ash. Captain John Morris said it is believed Briggs shot Ash in the early morning hours. Investigations also arrested Peters and Venus Harris, both of Panama City, and charged them with tampering with evidence because they removed items from the murder scene without reporting the death. Briggs was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
