Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the state’s unemployment rate is at a record low. Florida’s unemployment rate dropped to 3 percent in December 2019 and the labor force continued to increase with 220,000 Floridians entering the workforce over the year. The Governor’s office says 198,200 private-sector jobs were created in Florida over the year. The private-sector annual job growth rate of 2.5 percent also outpaces the national average of 1.5 percent.
