FATAL CRASH FOLLOW-UP

Escambia County Alabama Sheriff Heath Jackson said a driver killed in a four-vehicle crash north of Atmore, Alabama, last week may not have known a deputy was trying to catch up with him. He said one of his investigators was traveling south on Highway 21 in an unmarked vehicle when he was passed by a car going in excess of 100 mph. The investigator turned on his blue lights and siren but was unable to catch up to the vehicle. The driver – 39-year-old Warren Stallworth, of Monroeville, Alabama – eventually collided with two pickup trucks and a car. Stallworth was killed and five others were injured. Alabama State Troopers are continuing their investigation.
