The Pensacola News Journal is reporting that Santa Rosa County School Superintendent Wyrosdick says over the past three years students having sex on school grounds has become a problem. This school year 18 students have faced disciplinary action for a sexual offense and were sent to an alternative placement school. Last school year, 23 students were disciplined for sexual offenses, some as young as fifth graders. Wyrosdick said the offenses include students caught having intercourse, oral sex, inappropriately touching each other while on school grounds or sending or receiving explicit photos. A student found guilty of a sexual offense can be sent to The Learning Academy in Milton or expelled, but parents may appeal to the school board.
