The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners will consider a resolution at Thursday’s meeting that would make Santa Rosa County a “Pro-Life Sanctuary” county, the first in the state. The resolution, which is only symbolic, would proclaim the county as being officially anti-abortion. The Agency for Health Care Administration said there were 71,908 abortions performed in Florida in 2019, 160 of those women were from Santa Rosa County. Santa Rosa County does not have an abortion clinic. The closest clinic is in Pensacola. Commissioners will take up the resolution at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Tiger Point Community Center.
